The lawless regime in Belarus turned recent presidential elections into a farce. On December 19, 2010 Lukashenko used unrestrained brutal force to subdue peaceful demonstration of the tens of thousands of people against election fraud. Brutality of that night is followed now by mass arrests and harassment of thousands of citizens, who dare to express their outrage with the actions of the Lukashenko regime.

United States should more strongly protest Lukashenko's illegitimate grip on power and recall our ambassador until Belarus releases all leaders of opposition, all prisoners of conscience and declares the new election date. No more business as usual with the dictators!
